The custom of giving Bomboniere dates back hundreds of years to the Mediterranean. The nobility of the time, would commission exquisite gifts to be given to their wedding guests. The tradition is still continued today by Italian and Greek communities around the world to celebrate a Wedding, Christening, Engagement, as well as First Holy Communion. These days, more affordable gifts are used as tokens of appreciation.
Sugar Coated Almonds, an Italian and Greek tradition, is still a popular item inside a Bomboniere gift. Generally five or three almonds, representing Health, Wealth, Happiness, Good Luck and Fertility, are presented in Silk and Lace Parcels of Tulle or Decorative Boxes with a few tiny lacey Flowers tied around them. Bomboniere is a thoughtful memento to say 'Thank You' to guests who have shared such an important day and a good omen for lasting happiness.
LAMPADES: Christening/Baptism Ceremonial Candles - Decorated Candles Lampades are usually 24" candles that are decorated with a huge Satin Bow made of silk or organza. They can also be decorated with Silk, Satin, and Tulle with flowers and pearls hanging in the middle of the large bow, and fancy lace trimming. Usally, the Godmother, (or other relative depending on individual traditions) buys the Lampada and brings it to the church to be used at the Christening ceremony.
The decorations on the Lampada are hand made by us according to your choice of style, color, fabric, and size of candle. White can be used for either Weddings or Baptisms and Chrisenings. Pink for girls, blue for boys, or sometimes teal or maze, depending or the childs Christening outfit.With Tulle from 45 Dollars or Satin & Lace from 85 Dollars.
MARTYRIKA: Witness Pins Martyrika are a tradition and token of thanks to all your guests as they witness and participate in your child's christening. They are placed at the lapel of every guest at the Christening or they are pined on the Bombonieres (Christening Favors). They come pinned on satin pillow with Blue, Pink, or White lace and some w/bows around it and come in different styled Gold Filled crosses or round charms from .99 cents to 2.00 Dollars each.
